I met Mike Smith at the California Association of Directors of Activities (CADA) Summer Leadership Camp at San Diego State University in the summer of 1985. Mike was transitioning from being a very successful Herff-Jones school ring salesman, to a motivational speaker. Mike has become one of the best speakers in North America. His message of inspiration has been heard by over four million student leaders, and the adults that support them. We have been friends for over 30 years. Mike has a gift for incapsulating meaningful life truths into rhymes. The prayer that he wrote for his young son, KC ,is one of my favorites.
